Comportamiento alimentario

Objetivos del equipo de investigación 

 

La línea de investigación tiene como objetivo central el estudio del comportamiento alimentario desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria, buscando generando insumos que contribuyan al diseño de estrategias tendientes a promover hábitos alimentarios saludables y sostenibles en la población uruguaya. Se procura entender en profundidad el proceso de toma de decisiones y evaluar cómo las características de las personas, los alimentos y los entornos influyen en la selección de alimentos. La línea se desarrolla en el contexto del Núcleo Interdisciplinario Alimentación y Bienestar del Espacio Interdisciplinario de la Udelar, integrado por Facultad de Química, Escuela de Nutrición, Facultad de Psicología, Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño, Facultad de Información y Comunicación, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Instituto Nacional de Alimentación del Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, Ministerio de Salud Pública, Intendencia de Montevideo e Instituto SARAS. Dentro de las temáticas abordadas se encuentra el etiquetado de alimentos, el marketing digital, la alimentación en la infancia y la adolescencia y el uso de sal discrecional.

En este contexto el objetivo de esta línea de investigación estudiar el comportamiento alimentario de la población uruguaya, generando información que contribuya al diseño de políticas públicas y estrategias de comunicación e intervención tendientes a modificar los patrones de consumo de alimentos identificados como nocivos y reforzar hábitos positivos. La línea de investigación tiene un fuerte enfoque interdiscplinario a partir de la colaboración con investigadores de la Facultades de Química y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de la República y el Instituto Nacional de Alimentación.
